Safety Measures

We appreciate some of you may not be ready or able to currently return to the gym, which is why we continue to offer online services such as classes and personal training.

Here at SMR your safety is our priority and as a result of COVID-19 we have introduced safety measures to help you #TrainSafe. We have undertaken a thorough risk assessment and regular deep cleaning takes place in addition to daily cleaning throughout. Please do not attend the gym if you are unwell. In the event you or a member of your household begins to display symptoms of COVID-19 and you have attended the gym within the last 14 days, please contact us at the earliest possible moment.

Admission to the gym is via advanced booking only. All sessions must be requested in advance to 07365 355111. (No walk-ins permitted, this also applies to general enquiries). Only confirmed bookings permitted. There are currently no limitations to how many slots you can book, however we recommend you keep your training to a minimum. A record of each clients visit is maintained for 21 days for contact tracing.

We are operating at reduced capacity and admissions are staggered, therefore please stick to confirmed booking slots.

Upon arrival and departure please sanitise hands and wash hands at regular intervals. Please avoid touching face throughout.

Face coverings are not recommended during exercise unless you have been advised by your Physician, however must be worn at all other times.

Social distancing to be maintained throughout, to support this we have fitted protection screens, floor markers and wall signs. Certain equipment may also be placed out of use. Please limit time spent in confined areas, such as doorways and the locker area.

No sweat/towels permitted in gym area.

We have sanitisation stations throughout the gym so please sanitise all equipment or touch points before and after use.

Though our washrooms are not communal we strongly advise you to arrive and depart in your gym attire wherever possible and refrain from using the shower facility.

Only lone training permitted unless from same household so please ensure you know your limits, train safe and where necessary use the safety equipment. Induction refreshers are available free of charge, ensuring you are able to train to a safe standard - bookable direct with Matt Price.

Limit personal belongings to prevent using a locker, however if you do have items please ensure these are safely stored within the lockers.

Group classes are kept to a minimum and no more than 1 class is scheduled per day. Clients will also be socially distanced side by side or back to back, rather than face to face and whenever possible we will use protection screens to further mitigate risk.

Refreshments and lounge area out of use and trying on clothing is currently not permitted.

During personal training sessions social distancing will be maintained and clients are encouraged to gather their own equipment.

Contactless payments are preferred.

Chaperones only permitted under certain circumstances. For example in the event children attend 1 parent will be permitted.

Please be patient and considerate of others whilst we all adapt to our new routine.
